The loss of my Mom Pauline in January 2024 was a profound shock. She suffered a cardiac arrest and it was only when she arrived in hospital where she had scans did we find out she also had cancer. Something she didn’t know herself. She died just a few hours later. 

I’m grateful to have been with her just the day before, chatting and laughing over lunch. I honestly thought we had many more years of laughter ahead of us. She was the heart and soul of our family and her presence is deeply missed. I feel like a part of me went with her as I held her hand to say goodbye.
